I am learning to recognise fractions of shapes and groups.
It was tricky to know which is the numerator and which is the denominator.
I am proud that I know what 1/2 of shapes and groups are.
Next I can learn how to find fractions of numbers.

Features of a non-fiction text

What is a content page? A content  page is at the start of the book.

What is an index? Tells you what pages things are on.                                                                     

What is a glossary? It tells you what some words mean.

What is a diagram? It is a drawing which has labels to explain the different parts.

Why are there photographs and not many drawings? Because it is a non-fiction book and is about real things.

What is a map? It can show where you live or where some animals or birds are found in the world. 

                                                                              My Reflection

I am learning about the features of a non-fiction book.

It was tricky to find the right information.

I am proud that I know more about non-fiction books.

Next time I will know where the things are.

I am learning about 2D shapes.  It was tricky to find the equal sides and angles.  Next I will know how to do it.  I am proud that I know more about shapes.

3D shapes

I am learning to about 3D shapes.  It was tricky to count how mach corners,faces and edges.   Next I will now how to do it.  I am proud that I now more about 3D shapes.

Multiplication and Division

I am learning to solve multiplication and division problems. This is the strategy that I am using.  I must learn my multiplication and division tables.

I was learning about nouns, verbs and adjectives.  It was tricky to know which  word was which.  I was proud that I had enough words.  Next I can try using different nouns, adjectives and verbs.

I was learning to find important information from a non-fiction text.  I found it tricky to get the right information.  I am proud that I know more facts about the blu whale.  Next I can use this skill using other books.

I am learning to make tidy tens to help me solve my addition equations.

I am learning to make tidy tens.  It was tricky to make the number into a tidy ten.  Now I am proud that I know how to do this stage 5 strategy.  Next I will practise this strategy and  try bigger numbers.

Reflections

I am learning to use descriptive words in my writing.  It was difficult to think of suitable verbs.  I was proud when I finally finished.  Next time I could use the dictionary and the thesaurus to help me.
